Welcome to Miṣriqiyā, an international peer-reviewed academic journal published biannually by the Faculty of Women for Arts, Science & Education, Ain Shams University. Dedicated primarily to Africa and African studies, the journal aims to publish high-quality research papers that explore the continent’s diverse histories, societies, cultures, and environments. Miṣriqiyā publishes original contributions in anthropology, history, sociology, politics, geography, linguistics, literary and cultural studies, and the basic sciences. While its central mission is to promote scholarship on Africa, the journal also considers high-quality research from other regions and disciplines that enrich broader academic debates and resonate with its interdisciplinary scope.
